If MLM Is So Easy, Why Do I Keep Failing?

For all the hype and hoorah, most MLMers make less than they spend on their businesss. and most of those who survive into Year Two make less than $500 per month.

Those are terrible odds! Did you sign up in your business so you could make less than $500 per month? I doubt it!

you probably didn’t sign up to make $500 per month. More likely, you were attracted by the possibility of becoming financially independent. So what can you do to enhance your chances?

Unless you’re fortunate enough to have a tech-savvy sponsor, you’re probably not going to get much help finding a way to build your business on the internet. It’s not your sponsor’s fault though. (Keep in mind that if he or she is “average”, they have no idea how to build a network!)

Internet use has been widespread for 15 years or so, but it’s just recently become a viable recruiting tool. Most MLMers are still in the Dark Ages when it comes to recruiting and technology. The majority of networkers get into an opportunity because the product they’re selling had an impact on their health, their weight, or some other tangible benefit.

Here’s a secret your sponsor might not have told you: your product is not important to your success! Please don’t misunderstand me: unless you’re an absolute sleaze-bag, you want to represent a good product and a reputable company. (Who but a sleaze-bag would knowingly sell a crappy product from a disreputable company?)

If you want to sleep well at night, you have to sell a quality product from a company that provides good customer service. Since you’re going to devote a lot of your free time to telling others about your product, you want a company that will take care of your customers, otherwise you might suddenly find yourself not getting invitations to parties, dinners, and family get-togethers.

Your Product Is Not Important To Your Success! Products come and go. There’s a new weight-loss product every week.

People will be attracted to you as a sponsor for one of two reasons. First, you can effectively help them envision a future of financial independence rather than financial bondage and debt, and secondly, you can prove to them that you have a system they can duplicate quickly and easily.

The reason most people fail in MLM is that once they’ve signed up for their primary opportunity, they have no idea what to do. It’s really weird that in the Internet era, the same old garbage advice is handed down from sponsor to recruit: “make a list of 100 people and start calling them.”

OMG! Who in their right mind wants to call 100 people who don’t want to hear about a business opportunity? (Actually, I know someone who LOVES to do that. Thank God for Caller ID. I can avoid his calls and not hurt his feelings! He’s not in his right mind.)

The internet is underutilized for MLM recruiting because it seems like you have to be a computer genius or a web wizard to take advantage of it. (I’ve personally tried to sell real estate on the internet and I know how difficult it can be to maintain a website like that. Even managing a simple site can a sane person crazy.)

If you have those skills, marketing and computer programming, you could create a product that hundreds of thousands of network marketers would want, so please don’t let me dissuade you from trying. I might be the first to sign up!

The best system I’ve found is a two-part system. Part one is Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring. Mike’s specialty is teaching the networker marketers MINDSET. Unless you have the right mindset, you’re going to approach prospects the wring way. Not one MLMer in a hundred knows this vital piece.

The second part is called MLM Lead System Pro, which is a turn key system for building an online recruiting “machine” that’s extremely effective and easy-to-implement.

I’ve been recommending Magnetic Sponsoring to my team and their response has been universally positive. If you’re new to the industry and still trying to figure out how to do “the right way”, I recommend you check it out by clicking the link in my signature.

After struggling to build his MLM for many years, John Zehr discovered a way to attract new distributors almost magically. He’s offering free training videos that explain the “Magnetic Sponsoring” technology in detail in a his clear and east to follow style. Winning Habits of a Home Business Owner

If you are in home business or you intend to start a home business of any kind, then I can’t emphasise enough the importance of practicing consistency and persistence as a habit in your home business routine.

If you own a home business consistency should be up there with your top daily habits and if it’s not, then I suggest you have a good look at what your daily habits are and change them to include a consistent flow of the tasks that you currently do.

Have a look at any successful business or enterprise and see if the entrepeneur got where they are by being inconsistent and undisciplined, just floating around doing things here and there when they felt like it. You won’t find any I am betting. Success comes from people who perform their tasks in a disciplined and routine manner and even have allotted time frames for their tasks in their organiser for certain periods of the day during their working week. For example making time for one hour each morning for phone calls, speaking to clients etc.

I recommend that you get a diary and allocate certain times of the day for certain tasks, on certain days of the week. Block out your weekend if you are not willing to work on the weekend, but make sure that particular days of the week of each week look the same or similar in your routine. You will find you will achieve the tasks a lot easier if you know what you need to do before you do it.

Now onto the subject of persistence. I feel they kind of work hand in hand. If you consistently carry out the tasks of your business day in, day out, week by week in a persistent manner, you can expect to head down the road success. That doesn’t mean you will get there. There are also many other facets of business habit that you need to follow too, but that is for another article.

As defined in the dictionary, persistence is “continuing in spite of obstacles”. Without persistence, not giving up when things stand in your way to your goal, you will probably never get there. If you remain persistent about what it is you want and do whatever it takes to get there, then you will have an winning edge on those who give up when too many obstacles are placed in their way.

These two habits should be practiced as ritual in your business if it is not already your behaviour. No doubt you will find a much clearer road to your desired success when you implement them, as well as a shortened route to your final goal. Without them how can you hope for your business to be successful?
